Born and raised in the Boland town of Tulbagh, founder Pieter Badenhorst’s fascination with the alchemy of winemaking began early. After earning a BSc in Oenology and Viticulture from Stellenbosch University in 2002, Pieter sharpened his craft at renowned names like Nederburg and Bergkelder, leading the production of celebrated labels such as Fleur du Cap and JC le Roux. Enriched by vintages in Germany and France, he returned to Nederburg in 2019 to head the white-wine team, cementing his reputation as a leader in South African winemaking. By the end of 2023, Pieter established his own brand to merge a lifelong calling with a desire to foster unity through wine.
