The Winemaker
Albert Viljoen is the hands behind Aldine Handcrafted. By now you may have realised that he loves getting his hand dirty from the soil right through to the red hands during winemaking.
He had a dream to one day do everything, from planting the vines to bottling the wine himself.

He focusses on every aspect on the farm from irrigation to breaking leaves away so that there is not much intervention needed in the winemaking process.

The Wines
Albert and his wife prefer full bodied, flavourful and aromatic wines; but it needs to be soft and easy on the pallet. A soft touch and older barrels result in soft tannins.
Being led by the season and the grapes there will be a few big wines in our line-up.

We only use our own vineyards to make wine from.

The Dream
Being custodians of this piece of land intrusted to us, the dream is to add maximum value to everything we do. Thus, by producing great and honest wines we hope to grow a following of mutual wine lovers and enthusiasts along this journey.
Because we are limited by land, water, low yielding soil and other resources add value to be sustainable. In everything we do we consider nature and always try to leave the land better off than we received it.
