Pieter Badenhorst grew up in Tulbagh, a scenic town in the Boland region, which sparked his early interest in winemaking. Fascinated by the scientific transformation of grape juice into wine by yeast, he pursued a career in this field. After completing his Bachelor of Science in oenology and viticulture at Stellenbosch University , he joined Nederburg as an assistant winemaker.
Pieter became the winemaker at Bergkelder in Stellenbosch, overseeing brands like Fleur du Cap and JC le Roux. His career led him back to Nederburg to lead the white-wine team, enriched by stints in Germany and France. By the end of 2023, he launched his own company, combining his love for wine and people.
